WINNER OF THE WORLD SKIING CHAMPIONSHIP POSTER COMPETITION!

This was the last time the World Ski Championships were held in Trondheim, in 1997, and a poster competition was announced, which I participated in.

It was Adresseavisa that announced the competition, and the headline said that they had named the first winner of the World Cup – and I got 1st prize! There was a trip to Trondheim and the presentation of a brass trophy and prize.

I think the prize was 25,000 kroner, which fit in perfectly with our travel plans. I had agreed to work for three months for free at the "School of Illustration" in Hawaii, and we were going there as a family with two small children.

The poster was made with acrylic paint, with elements of collage. The motif was ski tracks in Norwegian nature and the famous Norwegian eight-petal rose, inspired by a traditional knitting pattern. This was also the logo for the World Championships. I just found it again and still think it is both colorful and beautiful!
