PROBLEM FOCUSED – What is my focus?
Consciously or unconsciously, I choose what I want to focus on, and what will be in focus. When a chosen thing gets my attention, it can often appear more important than everything else around it.
It is important that I choose to focus on the positive, but unfortunately I will often unconsciously be attracted to the negative. Problems, mistakes and shortcomings will very often get attention rather than the positive. A problem that is initially small will grow when it comes into focus. It can become large and frightening, overshadowing everything else.
A good help is to put down the magnifying glass and look at the problem in the right perspective. A real and actual problem should not be overlooked, but taken seriously. It is also not certain that the spider is the problem.
I am the one who controls the use of the magnifying glass. If I consciously practice shifting my focus to the positive, joy will grow. If I fill my attention with possibilities and solutions, discouragement and helplessness will have to give way.
THE STORY BEHIND THE LANGUAGE OF THE HEART
In 2006 I was challenged to have an exhibition, and this was the start of Hjertespråket. It eventually became over 100 different illustrations of words for themes that touch the heart and life. The metaphors were wrapped in hearts, and the images were painted on canvas with a palette knife. I experienced that the images created understanding, communicated deeply, touched hearts and functioned across languages and cultures. It was established as a separate company, I wrote texts and books, used the images in courses and teaching, created online courses and a membership portal.
They are inspired and created from a Christian perspective on life, but the metaphors work across all religious denominations. The original images are not for sale, but the images are for sale as prints in various sizes.
