HEART ROOM – transparency and integrity

My life can be compared to a house with many rooms. I am the boss of the house, and I decide who is allowed into the different rooms.

For some, a chat on the stairs comes naturally, while others are allowed into the hallway. Close friends are welcome in the kitchen for a meal, and perhaps in several rooms. If I am in a love relationship, the bedroom may also be available.

Attics and basements often serve as storage spaces. Good memories and secrets can be hidden here. Letters, photos, and perhaps treasures that I have forgotten or have not yet discovered?

There may also be dark memories in well-hidden boxes. They can lie hidden without doing any harm, but if I start opening them up and cleaning them out, it can take time.

Integrity is about making sure that the life I live on the outside is consistent with who I really am. I must know myself and speak the truth about both the good and the difficult parts of life. Honesty with who I am builds respect for both myself and others.

THE STORY BEHIND THE LANGUAGE OF THE HEART

In 2006 I was challenged to have an exhibition, and this was the start of Hjertespråket. It eventually became over 100 different illustrations of words for themes that touch the heart and life. The metaphors were wrapped in hearts, and the images were painted on canvas with a palette knife. I experienced that the images created understanding, communicated deeply, touched hearts and functioned across languages and cultures. It was established as a separate company, I wrote texts and books, used the images in courses and teaching, created online courses and a membership portal.

They are inspired and created from a Christian perspective on life, but the metaphors work across all religious denominations. The original images are not for sale, but the images are for sale as prints in various sizes.

Artwork Story: This image could also be called transparency or integrity. Our heart has many rooms, and some rooms my be tidy and nice to invite others in to, some might be messy. You might be in need of help to tidy up. Are you living your life in transparency or do you have stuff to hide?  You are the boss of your own heart, and can choose who to invite in and when.
