Maternity care

It's Mother's Day today, and this picture is called "Heavenly Care". A child is held close in his mother's arms and is surrounded by light and color. The original hangs in my studio. It is a colorful picture that is also available as a digital print in various sizes.

I painted a similar painting of a father and child for the first time on stage at a major Christian conference. Several people came up to me afterwards and told me that the painting had touched them deeply. The painting was sold and I returned to the studio wanting to paint a proper painting. One that I spend a lot of time on!

This is often difficult as the inspiration is not the same, and I ended up working for a long time before I was satisfied. The simple painting of father and child instead became a much more colorful motif where mother and child are surrounded by colorful patterns inspired by rose painting. The motif can also illustrate closeness, security and love from God. Love that can be experienced even without children of your own.
