Beautiful pictures from Engavågen, Svartisen, Bolga, Ørnes, Meløya…

Imagine, I can look back on 20 years in Meløy, a beautiful municipality on the Helgeland coast with fantastic nature. When you live here year-round, you never run out of inspiration.

I love painting nature scenes, and in Meløy you can find everything from beautiful beaches and exciting islands to majestic mountains and glaciers. The challenge lies in capturing the colors, moods and light in the scenes.

Painting the motifs takes time, but selling them takes even more time. An elderly lady once told me that it had to be family photos or something hand-embroidered for it to be worth hanging on her wall! Unfortunately, few people see the value in paying for the art, for the time and effort that goes into immortalizing a motif. If more people had appreciated this and bought art when I lived there, many more of the beautiful motifs could have been preserved for posterity…

Today, most of the originals from Meløy have been sold, but some of the motifs have been preserved as photographed versions. Nine of them are now available as signed digital prints in three different sizes – at an affordable price.
